Tungurahua is an active volcano in South America. It is surrounded by the Andes on one side and it dives deep into Amazon rainforest on the other one. As its peak reaches 5000 m.a.s.l., you can see extinct glacier, high altitude tundra and rainforest itself merging on its slopes. If you include the possibility of eruptions that may occur any time, you get the idea of the very specific ecosystem of the mountain. The author's dynamic images are partly inspired by his stay in Ecuador earlier this year. They express the richness of structures on all scales in abstract and stylised ways.
